Expanding the Herd

Jenny & Snickers were bred in November, 2024. They both were first-time moms and they did an amazing job.

Snickers threw us for a loop when she didn’t look like her normal self, so I decided to start putting alarms on so we could be up for the births. This was my first time kidding and I had no idea how it was going to go and by the box of "kidding supplies” I ordered, my breeder thought I was overly prepared. I specifically set my alarm for 10pm, on Wednesday April 9th at 8:45pm - about an hour to see how she was going to progress. Well, I woke up to my alarm and she already had her boys and were half cleaned up by the time I put some heavy clothes on. I waited and watched what she was going to do and what she was going to allow me to witness. Snickers is a loner - so I was curious on how much she was going to allow me to help. She did allow me to finish drying them off and getting them under the heat lamp. I was just thrilled with the opportunity to share her miracle.

Beautiful Boys - Walter & Grant.

Then we were waiting for Jenny to grace us with her baby. At the time - she barely looked pregnant and I bet my husband that there was only ONE in there. I was already exhausted from the night before, but I honestly couldn’t wait for her to give birth. Same protocol - except this time I was determined not to miss it. Alarm went off at 10pm, Thursday April 10th - and there Jenny was with ONE boy already. Yippee, but poop, I missed it again :( Except I didn’t. I stuck around to make sure he latched and low and behold - ANOTHER BOY graced us. I’ve never witnessed so much dedication from an animal. I am blessed to have that moment with her. Jenny was overwhelmed with two, so she did slightly forget about the second - but I was there to take action. Cleaned him up enough so she could finish the job.

Beautiful Boys - Jackson & Ernest.

This is what happens when you go trolling for more goats on social media…

Valerie, Toby & Randy

Valerie had triplet boys earlier this year (around the same time as the others). Toby and Randy were left to sell and we knew we wanted the family to stay together.

Just welcomed in August 2025, they are already enjoying their new herd mates and Valerie will have her boys with her forever. Toby & Randy will join the goatscaping bunch, while Valerie will enjoy the retirement life with Nutmeg and Kiara.

And shhh…she might be pregnant.

When you meet more goat people, you end up with more goats!

Sugar & Cinnamon

Missing from this page now is Cosette & Gemma. They were a cute duo and such fun to have around the farm. They were purchased to add to the business’s succession plan. Needless to say - if you read the next section, you will know why we sold them.

A farm in the Northern Virginia area was looking to re-home two horned does. My breeder has dubbed me as the “goat collector” is a loving way, promise! Sugar & Cinnamon, will follow you around for food, and don’t take crap from no one. Yes! - sign me up - Dottie needs a friend!

Surprisingly, this farm was looking for polled (no horns)
and registered does - that was Cosette & Gemma!
Off they went to their new home of hornless goats
and on came Sugar & Cinnamon to our herd of
brush eaters.

And shhh….Sugar IS pregnant. We will be
welcoming one baby at the end of September.

You know when your eating power needs to be bumped up a notch!

Hazel & Hattie
Kiko mother/daughter duo

Daphne, Deedee & Dennis
Kiko mother/daughter/son trio

Knox & Levi
Kiko twin brothers

Igor
Well, he is special and also a Kiko

Every goatscaper has that moment in their business where the question comes up - how much faster can my goats get these jobs done? Our herd was all Nigerian Dwarfs except three. They ate well and we always projected more time for a job than normal. For the 2026 Season - we will have the ultimate crew added - Kiko Wethers & Does! A kiko goat is a full-sized goat: bigger goat = bigger stomach. We were happy to get to know Kizmet Farm the summer of 2025 and they’re adorable herd. We jumped head-first into the world of Kikos and we will be training them to come when called, honor the electric fence, and have a great relaxing winter. Posting pictures soon!
